Please Join me at Los Tios next Sunday March 26 at 2pm for my
2017 Campaign Kickoff!

After last month's record turnout, we are transforming Mark's March Monthly Meetup into my Campaign KickoffLieutenant Governor Ralph Northam and some other special guests will be there to show their support for me. The suggested donation is $25.

Mark in the News

Lots of recent press about my work in the  left-hand column. Most of these are more interesting than my newsletter. So please check them out.

At least read:

  • The first story about the end of my primary campaign
  • The third story (or fourth or fifth) about the Virginia Transparency Caucus that I co-founded. I'm really proud of ourCameras in the Committee Rooms initiative.
  • The last (tenth) story about how and why a frivolous lawsuit by an Arlington gun store led me to draft a bill to protect the rights of all Virginia protesters.

Please stand with me.

If you support the work I'm doing, I could use your help. Campaigns, even short-lived ones, are expensive. And there are lots of expenses in just getting the word out to you.

Most importantly, I want to raise enough to give the House Democratic Caucus the funds it needs to give us a Democratic majority in 2017.

Can you chip in $50, $100, or $500?

SPEAKING OUT
The best strategy to fight Neo-Nazis is found in a children's book.

At an Anti-Neo-Nazi Rally in Alexandria, I gave what I believe is the best way to fight the alt-right.
I found the answer in one of my favorite children's books:  Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time.

International Women's Day
We must end the stigma for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

What a privilege to be the only male elected official invited to speak at the International Women's Day Rally in Alexandria!

I have long been dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence. In the speech above, I describe our two great victories on this issue this year and why it is so important to end the stigma against survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

Lots of Events!

With Session over, I've been very busy answering your questions about what happened in Richmond and how it affects you. As the only Delegate to represent both Alexandria and Arlington (plus a small portion of Fairfax County!), I've had a lot of ground to cover. But I'm enjoying every minute. It's great to be back home in Northern Virginia.
