Discrimination; sexual orientation and gender identity (HB 1049)
Legislative Action Summary
The most comprehensive LGBT-non-discrimination bill ever introduced in Virginia history. Every year I've served in Virginia, I have introduced this bill only to see it killed by Republicans. But this is the year I'm confident it will finally happen. The bill adds 'sexual orientation' and 'gender identity' to more than 70 places in the code. Wherever other discrimination is prohibited in Virginia, discrimination against rainbow Virginians will be prohibited as well.
